On checking the history of visited sites on google on my computer there are several that I do not recognise. Is it possible for someone to get into my computer and possibly use google and if so how do you stop it.I am very very concerned and this is worrying.

Only two ways is if you are Wireless not using Encryption, other is that someone else is using you computer when you are not there

The two most likely things are

You simply don't recognise the stored names of places you've been.

Someone else has ben actually using your computer

You have a virus or other malware

Some of the places are pop-ups that you had that you didn't explicitly visit.

Much less likely that someone has "hacked" into your computer.

Do you have anti-virus, firewall and anti malware protection? Do you have encryption if using a Wi-Fi link?

Hi DieSse,
I have not got any anti malaware as far as I know perhaps you could recommend one to me or let me know what you use.

I use Malwarebytes and Spybot S & D - both free versions.

After downloading them epdate them before using, and with Spybot, after updating do the immunisation.

Regularly (once a week) update them abd run them - one one week, the other the next week.

Scans take a very long time - you can safely delete everything they find in my experience.
