Ghost e mail

Although I understand (I think) how someone could have hijacked my e-mail account and then deleted the address book - it would have required me to have opened an “infected” e-mail or a virus to have gotten though the firewall, although this was on a corporate PC.
However, what I do not understand is HOW it was done two hours after I had logged off and was several miles away!

Probably because, if it was corporate PC, your address book and other details were sitting on a server and not the PC from which you had logged off.

And, presumably, that server was still up and running even though you were on your way home.
