Gfx Card/Trouble

Hi everyone,

Wonder if anyone could clarify/shed some light on a situation

I have a Sony VAIO - VGNFE31M
Which is now having great trouble displaying any sort of graphics. It displays the graphics somewhat but have irrational lines moving through the screen, I am lead to believe its a hardware fault as I have probably exposed it to extreme temperatures. Is it possible to replace this item, as to my knowledge its built in to the motherboard?? And do you think this is the problem. Prior to it going completely Windows reported a driver error with the graphics card.

Cheers,

Have you tried it connected to an external monitor ? At least that would tell you whether it is the screen connector ( external Ok ) or a driver/hardware problem ( external has same problem )

Have you attempted to update the graphics driver ?

Ashley
