Gforce 2 Texture compression?

  parapilot 23:49 03 Dec 2006

I have installed a new game which wont start because it says my graphics card needs texture compression on which it isnt. I have installed what i think to be the right driver off the internet. The card is a G Force 2 (440?) Do i also need direct X?

Any ideas how i get it working?

3danalyser /might/ help, but you can pick up a Geforce 3 from Ebay for peanuts these days - supports most modern standards.

Thanks, i have the latest Direct X installed with no results. The card is not a Geforce 2 i got it wrong its a Geforce 4 MX440

I have installed a driver pack off the geforce website (1 pack seams to do all drivers?) but its still not working and i cant see any settings or adjustments with the graphics card software / drivers to enable texture compression.

Any other ideas??

That GF4 card is based on a GF2 core so doesn't support the same range of features as GF3/genuine GF4 (eg GF4 TI4200/4800)

What is the game, have you read the requirements?
