Get rid of it all.

One of my flock has TalkTalk ;-{
It's built in security package has expired and is asking for money.
So he decided to go for AVG free.
This is when I got a call.
AVG free stops installing until the existing package is removed.
It appears that the TT security package does not appear as a separate item to remove with either a package uninstaller or with Windows add remove tool.
So I resolved to remove TT complete- then to install AVG- then put TT back.
This I did- followed by a reg edit - then a CClean- and a reboot.
Still AVG said take out existing package.
So we over ruled it and let it go in any way.

Question
Howe does one totally remove all components so that such a package installs cleanly?

Search the Registry for TalkTalk using Regseeker from Downloads.

See this previous thread click here
Follow the link in Stuartli's post to TalkTalk help.
It appears that you have to remove it from the "My Account" section on their website.

Try the uninstaller in Ccleaner, it's under Tools click here

The uninstaller in CCleaner is the same one Add/Remove Progams will run (if the program is in the list). Revouninstaller is more thorough click here

You need to know the security Package name, not taltalk. I am on talktalk but always used my own. I use Avast on all four of my computers AVG slows things down

I have passed that info on-

So you need to look for F-Secure in windows and Regedit and remove them
