I just wondered if anyone knew what "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services" is and if it is a viurs etc or is merely part of windows? Any help appreciated as i have no idea whether allowing it to access the internet is a good thing even though my internet won't work without it connected to the internet! Thanks, lewis.
"Generic Host Process for Win32 Services" (SVCHOST.EXE)is a Dns server for the internet, and also a "Generic Service Host" for other processes, such as .dll's or services so you need to allow it connection rights. However, some viruses and trojans use Generic Host Services to try to contact the web. Take a look at click here
