IE7pro no longer blocking these in IE8 anyone got a solution.

[its the ads that come from coloured text on web pages normally blocked by ie7pro]

You could always add the domain to block to your "Hosts" file. It's a plain text file with no extension (open with Notepad) in the path:


Try adding these lines:

or the actual domain if you know it.

once pasted to notepad do i just add notepad to the explorer line you listed

Open the Hosts file with Notepad, *TYPE IN* the lines in my earlier message and create the space between and the domain using the *TAB* key, not the spacebar, then save the file and exit. Make sure it hasn't been saved with the .txt extension and then these domains should be blocked.

OK, try this:

Use the "Save as" option to save it under a different name, for example Hosts2.txt, then rename the original Hosts file to Hosts.old and finally rename the Hosts2.txt file to Hosts (with no extension).

sorted IE8 was clahing with norton 360 v2. norton gave free upgrade to ver3 now all ok also IE8 a lot faster too.
