garmin 2505 satnav find location

When I try typing in the address I need, it tries to predict where I want to go - ie the keyboard is missing the letters I need and I don't know how to get the full keyboard back. has anyone else had this problem?

Yes its finding the only streets / towns available in its map database.

Tried to use mine to find roseville way in Leeds and it would only find roseville street about 5 miles away from where I wanted to be had to resort to the good old fashion paper map

I used the London A-Z for about 30yrs when working in London and paper maps for other locations. Getting my first Satnav I thought was wonderful until one day is did not work and I did not have the maps anymore. Had to find a garage that still had any and buy one. Too much reliance on things.

An A-Z not another Satnav I meant.

I've just been looking how to turn the predictive text off. It seems you can't.

My outrage has now subsided though.

If it isn't in the database, it wouldn't know how to get there anyway.
