Hello, I need some help with getting a laptop for gaming. I know PCs are better but I really wish to get a Laptop cuz I might be required to move around so it will be easier for me to carry.

I'm willing to invest up to 2000 USD on it so I think there should be enough options out there for me and that's why I wanna get advices on what to get first cuz it's a lot of money and wanna get best possible thing.

So far I've found 2 Laptops on amazon around that price which caught my eye:

  1. Alienware 17 ALW17-6877sLV 17-Inch Link: click here 2. MSI G Series GT60 2OD-026US 15.6-Inch Link: click here MSI one has smaller screen size but it has a better video card. I tried building same Alienware on but the prices gets higher to what amazon sells for some reason.

If you know a better place to get my gaming laptop please share with me :)

Also, is it better to have Windows 7 or Windows 8 for gaming ?

Am actually in UK but I found those cheaper on the US Amazon website, it's something around 1.2k Pounds the Alienware.

Try Scan , PC Specialist , and I would say there is no difference between W7 or W8 for gaming . You will generally get a better deal at a specialist custom builder rather than a brand like alienware as you are paying for that name .

In fact, someone suggested me this one: click here It is better, and it's not a big difference of price.

I have a Samsung 17 inch laptop NP700G7C which cost around your figure and it is a dedicated gaming laptop. I am very happy with it. It is probably no longer available unless you search it out on Amazon/eBay etc. Maybe they have a newer model to replace it.

Would not buy from USA. Think of Customs duty and VAT payable on import and the lack of any sensible warranty.
