Anyone familiar with this: GAMESPY ARCADE!A2
I run a scan with Avast (freebie)anti-virus, and and this popped up. Avast want me to buy their version to get rid of this. Anyone help with a freebie to kill it?

Sorry, Forum members, I feel a lemon!
I meant a-squared by Emsi.
Having apologised, I did use the FREE version of a-squared, and as I stated, to clear the bug, they wanted me to buy the upgrade - about £26.
I have Malwarebytes installed, smackheadz, and I will give that a go.
Graphicool1,
I will have a look at your response in a few minutes.
Thanks to you all,

Also have a look in 'all programs' to see if it has its own uninstaller.

I have just re-started my PC, and it ran a "Chkdsk" when I started it.
There seemed to be a problem with one of my drives, and it went about to clean it up. It was too fast for me to copy, but something like ths:
Deleting file record segment 117552.
Chkdsk is verifying indexes (2 of 3) deleting an index entry for index $0 of file 25.
Deleting index entry $I30 of file 120149.
Verifying secured description (3 of 3) etc.....
Then the PC started normally!
WOW! What was that all about!!
Do you think it relevant to the GameSpy Arcade problem?

No I don't think so. Game Spy comes with a download manager, if I remember rightly, which you uninstalled. Some aggressive antimalware programs will flag this up. This is the site; click here

Harmless enough but a bit pervasive if I remember correctly.
