Gamepad Controller

Hi I was wondering if anyone would tell me.

I have bought a used game pad which uses a 15-pin gameport connecter. I have plugged the device in to the back of my pc but even though the light lights up on the pad. I find that the pad still dosn't work.

Assuming XP
Start,
Settings,
Control Panel, and then double-click Game Controllers.
Check if it appears there first
May need calibrating
If not may need drivers - search the web for make and model

Have configured it in control panel and click on game controlers, that is assuming your OS is XP.

Operating system is XP

Contoller isn't listed. Have tried to install it on the add new hardware wizard. The hardware wizard has found Serial cable using IrDA protocol and it ask what COM port I need to set it up on.

Is your gameport enabled in BIOS?
