I have a large file I need to upload for others to download(300 gig) Does anyone know of a place to upload it to cheaply?

what type of internet connection do you have? if you've only got a 1 or 2 meg line then your upload speed is going to be about 256Kb a second, which means its going to take you 10 days to upload the file.

A quicker, cheaper and easier way would be to burn it to a CD and then send it to them via post

just realsied that a 300 gig file won't fit on a CD.......

Ok I guess i am being too optimistic. Thanks anyway.

is there any way you can split it or compress it?

If you don't mind the wait you can try this

300gig??? what sort of file is that? I don't think there is even a hard disk drive of that capacity at the moment.

Are you sure it is gig (gb) and not meg (mb)???

I hope they are not on dial-up:

56 K (Modem) 56,000 bps = 1 year, 167 days, 14 hrs, 38 mins, 26 secs

I think it must be 300MB

Oops sorry it is 300 meg not gigs.

You could use Azureus to create a torrent file for it and share the torrent. You will then be able to share it.
