I hope you good people can help again.

I have designed my 1st web site in microsoft frontpage. I have registered my domain name and now I wish to upload the site.

The web host I am thinking of choosing recommends that to upload my web page to the internet, I will need FTP. Can anyone recommend a good way or supplier of this? Sorry I really don't know much about it.

I have downloaded Firezilla thinking that is what I need. But I think I have only successfully managed to confuse myself!

Have a look in the downloads on this site.
(downloads then internet, internet tools)

I use AceFTP 3 Pro which I think was free and suit my needs.

You might get more response if you put this thread in to the Webdesign Forum?

OK. thanks for your help!!

I have downloaded AceFTP and then once it downloaded it, the site informed me that it was free only for a 30 day trial.

I still have absolutely no idea what I am doing or what I have downloaded!

Yes, you are right. I should put this thread in the Webdesign forum.

You can tell how confused I am today!

Open Windows Explorer and, in the address bar, enter the address in the format (without the spaces):

f t p : / / username:password @ ftp_server_address

Should I get rid of AceFTP and use Windows Explorer or some other Ftp as recommended?

mgmcc - Nice one. Very handy

Not absolutely certain of this but before you can use any FTP program you would need to contact your host and get: A host address, a user ID and a password. My host for my site gave me the Host Address and User ID and I told them what Password I would like. I use CuteFTP and have had no problems at all. I have also found that some Hosts don't like you using your own choice of FTP and want you to use one of their choosing. (Rather like car insurance, you can't get it repaired unless you take it to their choice of repairer).

Check it out with your Host first.
