FTP

I am a total beginner when it comes to web storage but decided to use the space pipex gave me for backup purposes.

I can access the space using a trial version of terrapin however I thought I could use it like another folder from windows explorer.

What I want is to set up Microsoft backup to store to the webspace.

Any pointers would help.

Here is a nice free FTP program that I use click here You just use drag & drop to upload files from your PC to your webspace.

How much space does your ISP allocate?

Pipex allows 50Mb

I'll give the program a try thanks.

Does MS Frontpage have FTP facilities as I have this as part of Office?

Frontpage has a FTP prog built in to it but check that your ISP supports Front page not all do.
Failing that try one of the other free websites.
eg. click here I use this one and there is their own ftp program available.

To read about using Front Page 2003 for FTP

Pipex, (like most ISP free web space), do not support Front Page extensions, but should support Front Page FTP.

Personally I use Cute FTP, which make it very easy.

Thanks guys.

I have downloaded BlazeFtp as recommended by clint2 and as he said it is free and easy to use so I'll run with it in the meantime.

I do however remember reading somewhere that the space could show as a folder in windows explorer so I'll leave the thread open for a while and welcome any further input.
