FSB Speed setup error

  Ronnie H 10:01 02 Feb 2003

I have just entered the incorrect speed for my AMD Athlon 2100+ processor - I set it to 266Mhz instead of 133Mhz - I know it was silly! It appears to have caused damage to my DDR Memory and hangs before it gets to the bios setup menu. How can reset the BIOS to standard so i dont blow up any more memory?

Look at you motherboard instruction manual and you may see that there is a jumper you can close to revert to the default cmos settings. If not, take out your cmos battery for about 5 minutes and then replace. This should have the same effect. You should then be able to boot up and use your CMOS setup to get the correct settings for your system.
