Frozen Turn Off

I recently installed Windows XP SR2. Since then, once i click on the turn off computer button, it hangs up for 3 minutes minimum then it gives me the options. Is there are a cure for it or is it a possible virus/bug?

it could be a hardware conflict

Have you updated all your drivers?

My PC is very old and i cant find driver updates. I never use to have that problem. This is the first time. I ave reinstalled it due to a major problem.

My Specs are: 355MHz Pentium 2, 128 RAM, 10GBx2 Quantom Fireball HDD, Ricoh MP7163A CD-R Writer

its the amount of ram in your system

You need to at least go to 256mbram

XPSP2 is memory hungry

I assume you here the HDD whiring away before shutting down

Nope, the HDD doesn't. And ive used 128MB RAM on Window XP SP1 and SP2 for over 3 yrs now and it hasnt caused me no grief until now. How can i resolve it without spending money?
