Frostwire connection problem

My Toshiba Vista Home Premium laptop is connected via a wirelees modem/router - linksys wag54gs-uk and the network/internet connection is ok. I also have Zone Alarm and AVG Free 7.5.524 running.
When Frostwire 4.17.0 is launched, it stays at disconnected on bottom left and a bar "loading internationalization support" scrolls along the bottom. I have tried to do a audio download but the scrolling message changes to "loading messages" and nothing happens. The connect at startup option (of program) is ticked but it does not connect and if you click on file-connect again nothing happens

advice appreciated!!

Have you set up Frost Wire via Tool - Options, as the speed connection type may be wrong?

Deselect the one you do not want to use
