FrontPage 98 help needed please

  AngeTheHippy 19:32 22 Feb 2003

Hi Guys, I need some help with FrontPage'98. As this is THE BEST PC Forum on the net, I'm sure you can help... My previous PC had Win '98 OS, and I used FrontPage 98 to create a website. I've now got another PC, running on XP and need to know whether a) I can still use FP98, or is it all a ploy by Mr Gates to make us buy new *everything* including s/w when we change our OS's, and b) if I CAN still use FP98, please can someone tell me what updates I will need and where to get 'em from?

Thanks a lot in hope,

Ange the Hippy

It depends (doesn't it always?) :)

FP98 will run just fine on XP, but XP Home will have a problem if you want to use the Personal Web Server facility in FP98 (see click here ).

cheers for this - yeah, 2nd 'click here' was something special...I momentarily wondered 'what you'd been on...' 8-D

First 'click here' more or less answered the question though.... damn, prob will have to fork out for summat new then. Hot Metal is meant to be pretty good for the non-html-literate. PC World don't sell it, so will have a hunt around online.

Take care,
