A fresh approach to sequencing Favorites

  BurrWalnut 09:14 25 Mar 2003

By now we must all know how to sort Favorites into alphabetical sequence (see the post by Tic Tac Man over the past two days).

After trying many different approaches, here is my preferred solution :

I always surf with the Favorites showing in the left pane on the screen (click Favs on row 3). I keep this as narrow as possible by "renaming" every folder and link to a short but meaningful name, prefixed by a number.

I have 27 folders all prefixed with 01 space to 27 space (don't prefix "Links" otherwise a new one is created). You have to insert the leading zero as 1 to 27 doesn't work (10 would come before 2 and it throws the alignment). Obviously, the most referred to folder is at the top, in my case "01 Banks", "02 Software", "03 Forums", etc. Sub folders are also numbered. Don't have too many sub folders as the indentation makes the pane harder to read, therefore making it wider.

I hope this is of help to some of you.
