Freeserve OE-can't receive large file

  watchful 13:16 18 Mar 2003

Today my OE connects OK (56k dial-up, Win XP) and begins to receive what appears to be a large file/photo or similar and then a message comes up about POp3 server not responding, try again etc. wait or cancel.
Is there any way of resolving this? None of my settings have changed.
Any help appreciated.

If that does not work, see the bottom of the page regarding the use of Telnet to do it. : }

In OE > Tools > Accounts > Select freeserve > Properties > Advanced > "Server Timeouts" Move the slider along to 2 mins for exmample.

It may however be a stuck email. In that case it won't download.

click here enter your details and you will be able to see the email (all of them infact) and delete, downlaod etc.

Have a look here, it may help click here

It's always possible you may have a "stuck" email, if the above doesn't work try following instructions on how to unblock an email

What a panic - kept putting my username in wrong - all fingers and thumbs. There was a pile of stuff in there, three from this site!
Anyway it's cleared now because of your links to freeserve.

Thank you all very much.
