Rockbloke. i also had this on my system last night, as well as a pop up screen saying i had visited a certain porn site and stating my IP address of 68.256. blah blah had been logged (this was not my IP address)

i tried ad-aware, startpage guard, hijack this,Spybot S&D and a few others. i also delved in the registry and deleted loads of entries for freednshost. but after a few second....back it came.

it also placed four new shortcut icons on my screen and in favourites. (debt consolidation + 3 others. cant remember the names now)

only thing that sorted mine was System restore to day before. if you are running XP or ME then i suggest you do a system restore to the last known good point.

Try posting a HijackThis log click here where there are full instructions. Make sure that you start a fresh thread for your log.

HijackThis logs do not post well here (understatement).

sorry, dont have any other answer except to format and re-install.

maybe someone else can offer better advice

did a search on google and only got 7 results, one from PCAdvisor, one from namestead about dropped web addresses, three foriegn ones and two links to freednshost which i wasnt about to click and i dont suggest you do either.
