Prior to downloading a Bios upgrade from the Asus site a bootable floppy has to be created in DOS using Format A: /S, but in XP this results in an "invalid parameter" message. How do I get around this?

Because XP DOS is not the same as the old DOS 6.22 or 98 DOS)that the old windows systems used the /s will not copy system files to the floppy.

try this

then swap the disks over and flash your bios.

Thank you very much, that's what I really expected; but strange that Asus doesn't mention that.
I can get a friend to create one on his 98se.
