Hi everyone.

I currently have a small network of 2Pc's and 1 laptop which connect through a router with firewall. I currently have various folders shared (Documents and Settings etc) and was wondering whether it would be safe to share the whole drive.

Thanks, James

Not a good idea as a general rule to share a root drive it can open up all sorts of possibilities for intruders and or folks who like to "just try this" in among your system settings.

Lots of people will argue for and against. My experience: I have five sometimes six PC's all running behind a B/band router with firewall, some are hard wired and some are wireless but atleast four have shared C drives and have done so for the past seven months.

still not sure whether to share the drive.

No files are stored on the machines, seeing as I have set up a file server for that.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Thanks, James
