Floppy Boot for XP

  Terry Brown 22:23 20 Oct 2003

I recently had a problem with XP Pro in that it lost my settings so I could not log on.

I have found a solution that may help others.

From search , select show hidden files
Find ntldr.com & ntdetect.com (from the 386 folder)and copy to a floppy disk
Next you need to find boot.ini, This is located by the following method: Control Panel, System ,Advanced, Startup & Recovery, Edit.
copy this to the floppy. DO NOT alter any of the parameters. You now have a bootable XP Floppy Disk
