CAN I COMPRESS MY FLOOPY ABOUT 10MB?

  DieSse 14:32 25 Aug 2003

No - you can only compress files to go on it - What type of files do you want to compress?

Otherwise you need a CD or Zip drive

Or a USB flash memory module. 16Mb ones are very inexpensive.

Fluff under the mouse will compress your floopy.

From XP Help and Support:

compress a file or folder on an NTFS drive
Open My Computer.
Double-click a drive or folder.
Right-click the file or folder you want to compress, and then click Properties.
On the General tab, click Advanced.
Select the Compress contents to save disk space check box, and then click OK.
In the Properties dialog box, click OK.
In Confirm Attribute Changes, select the option you want.

From me:

Save the compressed file to floopy (floppy).

In the last part it should say ... Properties dialog box, click Apply, then OK.

BUT I USE WIN 98 SE.

In that case you could download a program to compress files. Put 'compress files 98' in a search engine such as 'google'. This is one at random click here

I don't know whether you will be able to save a compressed file on a floppy.
