Flashing Monitor at startup

I have a Vision Master Pro452, five and a half years old, averaging about two hours a day switched on.

Over the last week or so I have noticed that when I switch my PC on, the Monitor crackles for a few moments, settles down and is then excellent.

This morning very early and in the dark (to avoid awakening my wife), I switched on my PC and when it started crackling I saw about a dozen very fast flashes, over the screen, I would not have seen them in normal light.

As I have said, by the time I get into Windows the screen seems very stable.

Any ideas please?

Use it until it stops working!

The high voltage module to the CRT tube is leaking and in time the monitor will fail

Repairing a tube type monitor is not worth the cost as you can get a 19” LCD for around

£100

Thank you both, I thought the writing might be on the wall, but as Ditch999suggests I'll use it til it stops, and I have another monitor to carry on til I renew.

Thanks again.
