Flash OCX

My Internet Explorer keeps being interrupted with the message that an add on is causing problems and IE might have to shut down....usually when I'm in the middle of something.

The culprit is Flash OCX. When I checked it's the shockwave player.

I didn't add it on. When I disable it as suggested then it keeps asking for the player.

Do I need to upgrade my internet explorer or is this part of the joy of having Vista?

Uninstall Shockwave, download stand-alone installer and run it with your browser closed. click here

I can't uninstall it Brundle......not in Control Panel..

I can only disable from IE. but then a message keeps asking for it.

Same applies?

Try removing and re-installing Flash instead;

Flash uninstaller; click here
Flash installer (Non-IE is for Firefox etc) click here

Or try this; click here

Depending on your version of Flash the filename will be slightly different - Flash9?.exe where ? is a letter from a to e, `e` is the latest version which will be present if you've run the installer posted above.
