Nero Express 188.8.131.52Windows XPCan anyone tell me what a Fixation Error is please?I've just downloaded a set of files to burn onto a CD for a friend without broadband. The files totalled 200 Mb. The were arranged in folders so she would know what they are.Sound DriversModem DriversGraphics DriversI burnt these to CD fine.I then remembered I'd get the latest Epson Printer driver for her too, so downloaded the driver and the status monitor which are both executable ZIP files.I made another folder called Epson Printer, dropped the files into in and then attempted to add the files to the CD.Followed usual procedure and got the "Fixation Error"From the Log12:08:35 #33 CDR -1176 File WriterStatus.cpp, Line 249 Session fixation error 12:08:35 #34 TRANSFER -19 File WriterStatus.cpp, Line 249 Could not perform Fixation 12:08:35 #35 Phase 38 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 Burn process failed at 40x (6,000 KB/s)I binned the CD and tried again with 3 more failed burns.Remembering everything worked OK without the Epson Folder, i took the files out of the Epson Printer folder, deleted the empty folder and then just burnt the files to the root of the CD.Burnt and validated first time. It's not the first time this has happened, so what causes these Fixation Errors? There was nothing wrong or unusual with the directory structure i was using.
Cannot write a lead out, could be media or firmware related or just a cranky burner. Lots of forum chat about it on Google
Or in your case the lead in possibly.
You could check that your device is set in "DMA mode if possible"
Except the solution is always to rearrange the directories i am trying to burn.DVD writer works fine for ages then some some reason won't write until i move a file from one directory to another.
Burning 6 files to CD.3 x Fixation ErrorRename one file and it burns fine!
Have you tried using nero burning rom,and not nero express?
