fitting old hard drive

hi, i am trying to install my second old 200gig maxtor to my new system. it has data on it (only music) and i want to keep this data, but i have connected it up on the scondary IDE conector and the jumpers was already set as slave. it is recognised by windows and windows has said it is working properly. the drive does not show up in disc management though, and there is no shortcut on "my computer". please help. lewis.

So, it shows in Device Manager, but not in My Computer or Disk management. It's not set as disabled in DM is it?

sorry i didnt make it clear, it shows in wondows devices but not in disc manager or in my computer.

all sorted now, it apeard as a foreign drive and there was an option to import foreign files so i did and its being regignised by disk management now
