fitting firewire card

For the first time in my life I'm about to take the case off my PC to fit a firewire card, and I'm bricking my self!!!

Any useful advice would be more that welcome

Hi, firewire card? won't bite you, provided you earth yourself before touching anything inside case, sinply touch metal chassis of case first.
Assuming it is pci card just slot into a spare pci slot and secure with the screw which should already be inplace. Very simple precedure, pc will 'find' it when you re-start.

btw - make sure you do not dislodge anything while you are in there.

You will get the fitting instructions with the card, just follow them. make sure you get rid of any static electricity by touching the case, i dont know why they say this cos it would be a job to not touch it ???.

Just take your time and try not to dislodge any wires etc from other things inside. windows will find new hardware and load the drivers and that should be it.
