Everything is in order in the case, but i haven't bought a new dvd writer or ROM drive yet.I was going to put IDE drives in,then saw you can get SATA for the same price. The question is,if i but a sata dvd writer in,can i just plug in,and the system will pick it up?

Is it a SATA hard drive then?

No problems here with SATA hdd

The older MOBOS had problems recognising sata but not nowadays

For a first build, use an IDE dvd drive.

Or if you have one spare on another system, borrow it to boot windows and load the drivers. Then slot in the sata optical drive.

IMHO, your better off with a IDE one. Theres not much benefit in the SATA one, at the moment.
