Fireworks MX 2004 - Drop shadow effect

  Charlie Babbage 19:54 27 Oct 2007

I have the Fireworks 4 Bible which states that to apply a Drop Shadow or Inner Shadow you select the object you want to apply the effect to and then choose Window > Effect.

However, I have Fireworks MX 2004 and I can't find Window > Effect. The drop-down list under Window is:

Duplicate Window, Hide Panels, Toolbars, Tools, Properties, Optimize, Layers, Frames, History, Auto Shapes, Styles, library, URL, Color Mixer, Swatches, Info, Behaviors, Find, Align, Cascade, Tile Horizontal and Tile Vertical.

There's no sign of the Effect tab. How can I apply the drop shadow effect in MX 2004?

Click on the object that you want to add a drop shadow on. Go to the bottom of Fireworks and look for a the white box with a "+" and "-" above it. Next to these symbols will be the word "Effects". - click here for a screenshot.
Click on the plus and select Shadow and Glow then Drop Shadow.

Hopefully that is of some help.
