FireWire to USB2 conversion...

  doom-tube 01:57 10 Nov 2003

Does anybody know of a converter that would enable me to connect my Firewire-equipped Digital Camcorder (4 wire) to a Hi-Speed USB port? It's not a problem on my computer, but I'm going to use my camera on other peoples' machines that are USB2 equipped but have no IEEE1394 capability. If someone knows the schematics, I'll happily make a cable.

You can really only use firewire for dv transfer as usb can't cope with that type of data click here . You only use usb for analogue transfer via a capture card.
