firewall on simple wireless network

If I have a simple wireless network (desktop to laptop).

Wher do I have a firewall? just on the main PC or on both. what about AV

Strictly speaking, every client needs a firewall. Or in your case, the client and the host. Kerio, for example, is capable of controlling a gateway, but I would still use it on the client as well. A remote firewall is not capable of controlling program behaviour - beyond simple inbound/outbound port access - that can only be done locally.
