Firefox Pop-up?

I have just had a new hard disk installed, and onto it XP Pro. I have a number of issues, but will deal with them in seperate posts.

Firstly, and this is a bit weird...when I browsed in Firefox tonight, just as I got to PCAdvisor home page, a new window popped up. Now this happened about 5 days ago too, but I didnt do anything about it as I knew I was installing a new hard disk and everything would be new. I actually thought I had been hijacked with spyware or something.

But now on the new setup its back! And its the same page;

Actually Im not sure if the dashes are correct, sorry. Whats going on I wonder, and is it just a co-incidence that the pages are the same?

OK I'll go on to problem 2. While typing this, and also while typing in Outlook Express, I notice occasionally the cursor jumps up or down by several lines, and I end up typing somewhere else. I never had this before. How could there be something wrong with a new H Disk and freshly installed XP Pro, just 2 days old...?

From Firefox's Tools>Options>Content tab, Enable Block Pop-ups.
