On the Google page, Preferences > change to English.

Vraiment interessant Koochy!

Just a thought, try going to Tools > Options and then click the 'Advanced' tab and go to "Edit Languages." Then select English/UK and click OK.

As for it changing spontaneously, je sais pas. :S

Thanks for your input i have tried your suggestion but to no avail.
I know this is a trivial problem to most but it is a major thing to me.
Any other ideas greatfully received.

I think this is a Google problem rather than Firefox.........mine is doing the same thing.

I can get to Google.co.uk no problem by typing it directly in the address bar but Google.com redirects to Google.fr (Google France)

Firefox searches with Google.com.

Same thing happens if I type Google.com into IE6.

If you key in google.com it redirects you to google.co.uk - no doubt for advertising reasons..:-)

It's been like that for some time.

Google.com still going to Google.fr for me!

  Stuartli 20:41 26 Jul 2006

Do you have a French ISP? ...:-)

I use Firefox and have just typed in google.com

I'm redirected to google.co.uk

PS

If you edited google preferences for English, did you Save (the) Preferences?
