If you want to open Firefox, why would you click on IE?

You can make Firefox your default browswer - click on Tools > Options > Check Now and Make Firefox my default etc. But, as MAJ says, if you click on IE you will open IE

Delete IE from your desktop - then you can't get to it unless you go into the programs list.

Go to Start>Set Program Access and Defaults>select Firefox as the Default browser from Customise; you can change other defaults if you wish.

There's also the Main tab from Firefox's Tools>Options>check if Firefox is the Default browser.

There are a few sites that will not accept FF. But there is a facility within FF (after a plug-in, I think) to switch instantly to IE if you have to.
