FireFox 3.5.5 Elements not working

Running as above.noticed that since about version 2 on, bookmarks., forward/back arrows/Cooliris, do not function.
Checked 'Profile' nothing there- due possiblt to removing software and reinstalling.
Have looked on the Firefox forum - have spotted nothing relevant so far.

Also when 'fireing up- will get a missing .dll warnig, words to effect'composite...... in... not found.

Though the program will start after clearing the warning away.
This problem is listed in Google but once more no remedy comes up.

Any thoughts?

2 options - Upgrade to 3.5.6 (latest version) or uninstall and re-install as it appears to have become corrupted.

For now I have unistalled FF and run 'regedit' and CCleaner to clear the system as best as able.
Now running IE for the holiday period. will go back to FF once thing go back to normal
