FinePix F401 image problem

  toogie 18:37 28 Dec 2007

Recently my F401 has started to display images as bands of colour rather than full images. I have charged the Lithium NP-60 fully but still have the problem. Although now 5 years old I like this camera and am reluctant to scrap it. A new battery is £20 but before I buy is this the most likely cause of problem or the Smart Media card ? Any advice greatly appreciated.

Could be a corrupt card - try a different card.

Sounds like the display is going.
May be time to buy a new camera.

I agree with CatTrading; I think its now time for a new camera. Your NP-60 is only 2.1 million pixels, which makes it an antique.

For only £46.85 from Argos you can get the Nikon Coolpix L10, with 5 Mpixels.

If you can afford a bit more, (£65), I would suggest the Panasonic LS60, (6 Mpix), also from Argos.

Sorry, I should have said your Fuji F401 is only 2.1 million pixels.

(That`s the trouble with copy and paste; I copied the battery number).

Have inadvertantly deleted photos from my Minalta Dimage Z3 whilst intending to download to my PC. Is it possible to recover them ? They are not in my Recycle Bin.
