I have been using LapLink to transfer files between PCs (W98SE) using a serial port cable, but its slow with large files.
Would there be a problem if I used the parallel port of each and a suitable cable (25 pin). In other words would I have to change the port settings because this port is normally used for printing? Please explain what I would have to do?Thanks David

If you use a parallel laplink cable and set laplink to use the parallel port on both machines you will have no problem, leave the actual port settings alone and this should work fine, and a fair bit quicker.

Thanks SMB Systems I will buy a parallel port cable. David
