File Sharing problems with Vista and XP

  Chas 22:01 20 Aug 2007

I have set up a wireless network comprising an XP desktop and a Vista Laptop (Home Premium) via a BT home hub. I can access and open files on the laptop from the XP machine, but when I try this the other way around (Vista to XP) I get the message:

\\(XP computer name)\(Folder name) is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

Not enough server storage is available to proces this command.

I think I must be overlooking something very obvious, but I have no hair left to tear out!!!!

Any/all help gratefully received. Cheers

Under control panel on the Vista machine, click network and internet, then network and sharing center. Turn file sharing on, turn public folder sharing on, turn password protected sharing off.

Good luck.
