File share over FTP

I'm trying to create a simple way to share files from one computer with other computers which are not on the same network.

I've set up an FTP server on my computer so the files are now visible to users at other locations. However, is it possible (and with what software) to allow users to open and save files directly to the FTP server, as if it were a server on their own LAN?

Thanks in advance for any help,

Gary

Gary,

How are the networks connected?

If you go to My Network Connections - Entire Network - Microsoft Windows Network you can see all workgroups on the network. Provided all users have access rights, they should be able to map any folder and therefore save to it.

Regards,

Felix

Felix,

The networks are not connected. I'm trying to give users access to a basic file set from several remote locations.
