File Restore software to run from USB stick

I would like to install some file recovery software onto a USB stick rather than onto the HDD I need to recover data from.

Anybody any suggestions please?

There's loads of stuff out there - just wondering if anybody had any personal tried and trusted recommendations

Thanks in advance

The best by far IMHO is Acronis True Image, saving your entire System and Programs and all Personal Settings to an external hard drive.

For recovering deleted images, click here. rcc-ltd.co.uk/CampicRestor.zip could be help on a USB stick.

I would personally not trust any other file recovery programs on a USB stick - but with the above two items, one is fully covered for any eventuality.

I wasn't sure whether they could be installed to a usb stick and run from a usb stick - all these sites are overflowing with information and it's a minefield reading through it all.

Techno - I already downloaded campic from yesterdays Acer Restore posting. Thanks again

Recuva, which I think has already been linked to, another very powerful one is PhotoRec/Testdisk; click here

Sorry again - I might not have made myself clear above - Acronis is for installing on your hard drive, then for backing up all your System etc. Not for installing on a USB stick.
