File Manager or PC Tools for WinXP

Back in those wonderful days of DOS, I was a frequent user of PC Tools, and even stuck with it when I started to use Win 3.1.

And in Win 3.1 there was the very useful File Manager.

Is there any similar two/three-pane file manipulator for Win XP? Windows Explorer is garbage.

x tree gold was my favourite :-)

Anyway, now I use xplorer² lite: free windows explorer replacement (file manager)

Dual-pane explorer.

To see PCTools mentioned, made me have a look because I never upgraded to the Windows version, never liked Norton Tools and and like Diodorus Siculus used X Tree Gold.

Thanks for the link.

Long ago, bought an XT S/H from my specialised software support, 5.25 floppies and all.

Playing with PCTools in the section which showed a file everywhichway including ASCI in the righthand column, I came across "Your PC is now stoned - Long live marijuana!"

When I phoned the vendor he said "Oh I thought we had got rid of that" and posted a floppy with Solomon's "findviru" on condition that I wiped it once used.... Not long after I bought my own version of Dr. Solomon.
