Hi just wondering if someone can tell me what the file extension .cda is?
What is it used for, and what does it stand for?
Thanx in advance.

Cheers VoG i sort of guessed it was a audio track, what i'm now wondering is the difference between .wav and .cda?

There is no difference in effect..cda is merely the shortcut handle assigned to audio tracks on disc so that Windows can handle them.

leo49 is correct that .cda is a special shortcut handle to identify audio tracks.

However they are very different files from .wav files, even though they both contain music.

click here is a description of many different media file types.
