My PC(XP) with the Fax facility installed and analogue Modem was and is protected by Norton Internet Security 2004. Then came ADSL Broadband. I now seem to be in mortal danger of a Dialler virus., entering my PC via the Fax connection through the still-connected pre-ADSL Modem. I do not dispute the Dialler menace but cannot see why the introduction of ADSL should INCREASE my exposure to Diallers via the FAX connection. The advice that I should have incoming Fax transferred to my e-mail to avoid a Dialler coming into the PC and then using my Fax out telephone line infers that my Norton is somehow less effective against Diallers than it was before Broadband. Is this so? Any comments and advice would be appreciated. Buckland.
