Faulty Scanning.

My Agfa Snapscan e50 has hardly been used since purchasing it new about 3 years ago. It has been unplugged for one year. When I used it recently, it scanned correctly at first, then I was getting a message indicating a fault with the hardware. The scans were distorted and incomplete, probably caused by a fault with the scanner motor. Is it repairable economically, or should I bin it!!

Not unless you can do it yourself. Probably just a matter of undoing a few screws and checking for physical obstructions, maybe a bit of lubricant needed on moving parts.

Since it is only £80 for the top reviewed flatbed photo-scanner click here professional repair is unlikely to be much less than that.
