Not the type around my waist :)I have a customer with a very old machine running windows 3.1 and at last she is going to buy a new machine which will have xp pro.Am I correct in assuming XP will not see a fat16 hard drive and the data transfer will have to be with floppies? Many thanks
XP will not read any fat files unless you set it up to use the fat32 file system,XP works better with NTFS you can not put floppys that have the FAT file system into XP running NTFS.
Windows XP can read files on NTFS, FAT32 and FAT, so the old drive can be connected to the new Win XP machine for data transfer.click here
Theodor....thank you that is great newsGold 47....My xp system is ntfs and it does of course read 1.44 floppies which are not ntfs (floppies cant be ntfs)
Very sorry for giving wrong info.
