Fast blue screen

  SLAYER 19:39 14 Feb 2007

I just had a call from a friend who is getting a B.S.O.D. but it flashes by so cannot read the error message. The screen reverts to a black screen. I had a similar problem with another friends laptop and I managed to stop the process at the blue screen and was able to read it.
I cannot for the life of me remember how I did it.

oops,I think I've answered my own question, but if anyone would like to confirm it.

If you can start in Safe Mode you can render that BSOD non-fleeting, at least. In Safe Mode right-click My Computer and choose Properties. Click the Advanced tab. Click the lowest of the three Settings buttons. UN-check "Automatically restart" and click OK, OK. Now at least the BSOD will stay on-screen so you can read it.
