fan got loud after opening asus up

I have an asus x501. I opened it up to replace the RAM. While doing so, I might have made some mistakes. 1-One black wire from the connector on the bottom right got snapped (which I tried to put back in place).2- Also, I damaged the aluminium tape that is holding the motherboard.

After having put the laptop back together, the fan makes a crazy loud noise! This hold true even if I just have a browser open. This is unlike before, where I would have many programs open and the fan was quiet. Constructive responses much appreciated.

Probably you have routed the broken wire too close to the CPU or GPU fan. Open it up and have a look as it would be a problem if the fan blade rubs away the wire insulation and allows a short circuit.
